Helping Mom

Danny has really become quite a helpful boy. One morning I was making yogurt soup (like the BYU MOA Cafe) for a ward recipe exchange. Danny watched every step and was quite happy when it was his turn to use the spoon. Frequently he "helps" make dinner too. Tonight we were having baked potatoes with all the fixin's (that sounded Texan, didn't it?). Danny watched me chop the broccoli and then started munching on a piece. I put the broccoli in a dish to steam it and he followed my lead, putting his half chewed piece of broccoli into the dish. When it was time to put some cheese in a bowl, he skipped the bowl entirely and just started shoveling the cheese into his mouth as fast as he could. I think he gets his cheese addiction from my side of the family. Danny's absolute favorite is helping feed the dogs. Any tidbit that spills out of their dish he picks up and puts back into their bowl for them. Funny, since when it is his turn to eat out of a bowl he just dumps everything onto his high chair tray. I guess in his mind bowls are for dogs, not little boys.
