She's Here!

Kaylee LaRue Hong was born at 3:34 AM on the 4th of July. She weighs 7 lbs 15 ounces and is 19.5 inches long. She has a small amount of blond hair (darker than Danny's was). Mom and baby are both healthy and doing well.

We are debating between Kaylee and Kailey as spellings for the first name. What's your vote?

Carrie - you have amazingly punctual children - even if they are a little on the small side! She is beautiful, Elena can't wait to meet her! My vote is for Kaylee

Jenny

We are so excited- your call woke us both up from deep sleep, but by the time we realized it was the phone instead of sound effects in our dreams and staggered out to the kitchen, it was done. I didn't have my glasses and we were both in a sleep stuper, abut we celebrated cheered for you and looked at the blog and are anxious to talk to you today and see you all tomorrow.

As Jenny, I am totally impressed with the scheduling you instill in your children...However, you better watch this one- she was almost 3 and 1/2 hours late! She probably just thought it would be cool to be born on national holiday. Dreamed about her when I went back to sleep. Someway, Kaylee seemed more appropriate then, though I still like the Kailey spelling. Maybe you can call her "Sparkler" or "Fire Cracker"

You will probably hear from me before you see this- I hope you got some sleep and you are all happy and feeling well. She is just beautiul, and looks very healthy.

Hope you have made a list for me to do when I am there.
Do you want me to call anyone?

Love mom C

Kaylee is my vote. It gives my dad's and mother's name of Kay and chinese of lee which is my grandmother's name.

Huge congrats to all! But especially the baby. As a reader, I'd pronounce Kaylee (K-Lee) and Kailey (Ky-Lee) - so whichever pronunciation you prefer. I love newborns - wish I could be there to hold her.

YAY! Congratulations! Haven't checked blogs in a while, but what a great time to check. :) I'm so happy for you guys. Can't wait to see the little cutie in person!
I like the spelling of Kailee and the pronunciation of Kaylee.

We spelled it Kylee and Kaylyn--so you can tell we like Kaylee and I haven't regreted it yet. But if you look for key chains with her name on it and stuff like that, you might want to go the other way. Congrats!! We are glad all went well.

Yay! Congratulations! Can't wait to see her up close and personal! When can we bring you dinner? I am a little disappointed that you didn't go with my name suggestion of Freedom or Indy Pendence Hong but whatever ;). I'm thinking with the whole spelling thing that Kaylee is super cute! Good Luck! Let us know if you need anything!

Congrats you guys! How exciting! Hope all is well for your little family. On the spelling, ditto what Heather said-- it all depends on how you want to pronounce it.
